Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy

Feb. 20. 2014
Anna Karenina is the first book that I am reading in the challenge. I started a couple of months ago, but I wasn't that far in the book. I have enjoyed what I have read so far. I am on Chapter 29. I know it sounds like that is far, but it's not. I am only 12 percent in on my kindle.
  Part One:
The book starts with a affair between Anna's brother, Stiva and children's former governess. Anna helps her brother and wife, Dolly reconcile.  Is Kitty  going to pick the right person to married or not. Will Kitty be happy with the choice? She is courting between Konstantin Levin,  an landowner, and Alexei Vronksy, military man. I know Kitty prefers Alexei Vronsky.  I am starting to see the attraction between Anna and Vronsky.  When Vronsky doesn't propose to Kitty at ball.
Alexey motto: "Unhasting and unresting" page86

Passages from book:
page 81 "The gazed rather a long while at him without answering, she saw, or fancied she saw, both the expression of his face and his eyes. It was again that expression of reverential ecstasy which had so worked upon her the day before."
page 82 "he believed that he had made an impression on Anna- he did not yet believe that,-because the impression she has made on him gave him happiness and pride."

Part Two:
Kitty's health is starting to take a turn for it's worst. Kitty realize her heart is broken. She is finally lending towards Konstantin Levin. Vronsky is trying to see Anna every moment possible. Friends of Anna have notice a change in her, since her stay in Moscow.

Passages from book:
page 106- "The great change is that brought back with her that shadow of Alexey Vronsky," said the ambassador's wife.
"Yes, but women with a shadow usually come to a bad end," said Anna's friend.
